Freezing

So, it has been sleeting, hailing, freezing cold, rainy, windy, pretty much absolutely yucky outside this past week. Schools have been closed so Aylah came to visit us with another tooth GONE!

We have just been hanging out, not having class and it has been so relaxing. Maybe next week we will get into the swing of things.
Here are a few photos of whats been on my mind and the lovely Hannah to brighten up your day!

Nn is for Nest.

This week we have been working on the letter Nn. There are lots of things that start with this letter, like "Nest" and "Native American" head wear. This has been an interesting day.

Taylor and Westin ate the whole thing. Addie on the other hand picked.

Sienna doesn't do chocolate. It's ok though. I love her!

Silly kids. I love them so much. Today was another adventure and I can't wait to have tons more!

A Rainbow of.....Scraps??

So, I went through our wonderful art room and found a bunch of odds and ends pieces of construction paper. What to do with odd pieces?? This is the simplest craft ever. All you do is cut up pieces of construction paper (preferably ones that are pretty much pieces anyway to recycle) and let the kids glue them to, well, anything laying around. I dug up some pieces of card board that were from a previous project. Vola! Instant art "waste of time" activity! The kids love it too!

What you will need:

*Odd scraps of colorful paper cut into little pieces
*A pair of scissors
*Some glue
*A pen or marker
*Some pieces of card board or any kind of small stiff surface.

I cut some of the scrap construction paper into little shapes. They don't have to be perfect, just big enough for small hands to pick up and put on a dot of glue. This craft allows little ones to work out those finger muscles and it gives them a sense of accomplishment when they have to sit down and get it done. It also teaches persistence, concentration, and a little bit of hand eye coordination as well.

Westin was the one that really got into this craft. He just loves all of the different colors there are to choose from. His double on the other hand (Taylor, they are like brother and sister), could care less. LOL. All she cared about was getting a turn on the exercise trampoline behind her.

The top pic is where I decided to hang them all to let them dry and the one on the bottom was my example. Here is a helpful hint: Mine was made out of the cardboard piece that came out of a calender. There is art supplies every where you turn. You just have to be on the look out and keep your creative mind open!
